well yesterday i did a 10% water change....and today i noticed the gravid spot went a little light but when i looked in the net....some little babys swam up!!!!!!!!!! so sweet! but she is still huge! so more to come!!!!! i saw 5 frys! she is seperated from the fry.......saw her chasing one....

hey!!! i got one vital question!!!!

i set upa new tank today for my fry......but 80% of the water is dechlorinated....20% is main tank water....all the equipment in the new tank is also new....how long should i leave the new tank for....before adding the fry?

PLEASE HELP ME!!??!!

They need a cycled tank. If its not cycled, they'll probably die because theyre pretty sensitive.

Until its cycled, which takes like a month unlesss you can get some bio spira.

What you can do is get a breeder net or something similar to put the babies in while the tank cycles. The breeder nets aren't the best, I recommend the plastic breeder tanks that float at the top, but if all you can get is the net kind, no big deal.

Bio Spira is the only cycle in a bottle that actually works. You can buy it from some fish shops. Where are you located?

Northampton, UK. The fish are already in a breeder net....and i put the new filter in the main tank in a corner for a while, so after a day or two i can put it into the new tank to speed everthing up...is bio spira available in the UK or anything similar???

Bio Spira is an American product... I thought about getting it... had a 'brief' look on the web but couldn't find it for sale in the UK... it contains live bacteria and has to be refridgerated... imo any of the other so called 'instant cycle' products are a waste of money...

it just clicked! NUTRAFIN CYCLE! i used some to cycle my main tanks ages ago...i only used a bit and transfered the fish the next day! to this day they are fine! that works to!


Anyone got JAVA MOSS? in the UK? willing to post?
