My Growing Puffs (dwarf Puffer Babies)

Naw  , puffers are so cute, especially your little ones :good: .

Thanks Tokis-Phoenix

Here are some of my other group of three little babies. You can tell their sizes from the java moss:

Spot the puff balls  (time out during tank clean)

Tempted by the bloodworm but still rejected it in the end :/

Yay!! The little one just eaten a couple bits of chopped bloodworms tonight :p

Thanks zoekin8yg :D .... DPs are fab little fish. I'm sure you will enjoy them.

Here is a pic of my little one (who refused to try bloodworms) after it's second bloodworm meal. It really does make a difference when they move onto bloodworms (from microworms). Hope it catches up with the other two siblings who are about 3-4 times bigger in size.

Thanks Pandacichlid :)

This little 4-month-old is showing all the signs of a male DP, i.e. both eye wrinkles and dark belly line although you can't see the belly line in this pic. He is only size of a small peanut.

His little sibling (presumably female) has now gone to a good home.

Makes me want to go out and buy some of my own :p If only they were suitable for community setups!

Dwarf Puffers are Sexable.

Whatever floats your boat...

I have several smaller ones in another tank. Hope a few will grow up like these two. The adults are still mating regularly but not as often as a month ago.

Imagine what it must be like having baby figure 8 puffers  ......

In my very limited experience, breeding DPs has been fairly straight forward. My biggest hurdle is getting the fry to survive the first few weeks.

Yer, Baby Fig8's would look so cute lol. im hoping ive got a male and female, as they are completely different in body shape and colouration.

Thanks for the nice comments everyone :good:

DE: Fingers crossed and hope your Fig8's are a pair  . Look forward to seeing any Fig8 babies. They've got to be super cute. Good luck ;)

Here's a new baby puff that has just started taking chopped up pin-head size bloodworm bites. You can just about see the microworms that he/she still eats (the wriggly white thread-like things that he/she staring at in the pic)
