Well few weeks back i popped into my nanas to say "how do" and obviously for tea and cake, whilst sat in front room noticed her 4ft tank was dark green. so got chatting about it to find out she had a air pump driven gravel filter. So i said i would buy her a filter to help out and that it would mean less cleaning of the tank.
So i bought a fluval 4+ of 'coldcazzie' and it arrived monday (really good member), i got back from uni today and took it straight up to my nans via the LFS. Bought her some tapsafe too.
So to start i removed the lid and all tubes, then put the fish in my goldfish bowl while i did cleaning (this was cruel and you shall see why when you look at photos of fish, but i had no option)
Anyway swirled around the gravel and siphoned alot out, then scrubbed glass. I removed the broken gravel filter, then replanted gravel, plants, stones and wood. Added the filter and started to fill the tank.
Anyway here is the results of a good 2 hours

) as ther might have been quite a lot of bacteria in the undergravel filter, even if it wasn't working properly
