My Girly Molly..being Odd!

Hi, we got a tank yesterday with fish in 2nd hand, we have a black male molly and a while female, the white female looks more than ready to drop but she is constantly chasing the male...is this normal behaviour? I thought the 2-1 ratio was so the m didn't harrass the f?! it seems to be the other way round. They are quite large mollies and i was going to get another f but i don't think i would find a lfs that sells them as big! Should i still get another female?

A second female almost always helps with breeding pressure but it sounds like your female has found another way to reduce breeding pressures on her. She simply will not tolerate the attention and the poor male is finding that out the hard way. A molly male is about like a teenage human male, he will never give up even though he is having no success. Hormones, not brain power, are ruling his actions.
