Well, I did have 2 month old Yellow Lab fry in a breeding tank within my main tank, but 4 days ago they decided to escape. They are only about 3/4" long and I was certain that they would become fish food. I was so gutted as these were my first fry :-( . But guess what? Today I caught glimpse of one, and managed to get a pic, it is so cute, and to top it off I stripped another lab last week and got 9 fry. Assuming that was all there was I put her back and she must have held onto a few as I have seen a tiny fry in there also!!!

I had around 10 Morrii fry in my seperate fry tank and with that i had my Yellow holding lab she spit them out in stages and all of the Morrii fry have gone but now the morrii is holding again YAY but my oh my is she hard to catch.

using those breeder boxes you'll sometimes find a mysterous disappearance of fry... it's because adults will go up and SUCK the fry thru the vent holes.

Its why I'll never use them and only use 5-10 gallon tanks

I also have a 11G fry tank if you can see aroung the breeding box in the pic it has some sort of net maybee and old pair os tights around it i remember juliebob posting about it before it think.

It looks like the parents bit through the netting if I am right. OOOPS, it is an oppening that was their in the net before, weird, well normally that is only on top. that is kinda funny.

what do you mean you STRIPPED her of the babies?

i have a yellow lab holding at the mo but ive nowhere to put her so ill jus have to see what happens i guess.

the fry will definately have place to hide in all the rocks i have tho.

Just thought I would update you all. My escaped fry are still doing well and getting bigger and braver by the day! I have only had Yellow Lab fry before, but my Sciaenochromis Fryeri Iceberg (Electric Blue) has been holding for 3 weeks, so I will be stripping her tonight, as I am going away this weekend and I dont want her to spit them then  . I will post some pics of them after I have done it.

Here is a photo of the proud dad to be!!
