My Freshwater Smells Funny

Hi, here's the rundown.

First I had ich, so I medicated it for ich and the ich went away. Then I had fungus and the fungus went away.

Now my fresh water aquarium smells like a warm salt water aquarium. I did a 50% water change but I don't know what's wrong.

Oh, I also added some wood to my aquarium which has been raising the pH a bit.

well thats what happends in a fish, i would say its nothing to worry about

I found a dead snail in my tank, could that be causing the smell?

I heard that dead snails could raise quite a stench.

Is there anything I could do to reduce the smell? The tank is in my room and it's really weird to wake up to that

Could be the snail. If you haven't already, take out the dead snail (I know that seems obvious, but sometimes we overlook the obvious) and then try a water change.

Also, if you have finished medicating your tank, you could try adding some new carbon to your filter to try and get some of the odor out.
