I cleaned the buttom yesterday, and today because my ancitrus and 7 corydoras aenus poops to much.
I have a 85 gallon tank, and i give them 1-2 sinking pallets everyday. should i reduce?

i doubt that the cory cats are the source of all that poop--it's probably just your bristlenose (ancistrus). all plecos are famed for their pooping ability and the crud shows up especially well on sand :/

reducing feeding won't really help too much since your bristlenose is going to eat as much as he wants anyways and only the cory cats will be deprived.

you've got a couple of options though:
--clean constantly (probably the least fun idea)
--add ground cover plants to hide the poop (i'm a big fan of pygmy chain sword)
--add some tunneling Madagascar Trumpet Snails (they eat nutrient-rich big poops and turn them into concentrated little poops. they also like to dig around in the substrate and help keep it aerated. the best part about MTS is that they don't eat plants!)

also, try feeding in locations that are inconspicuous. my plecos have always pooped the most in the places where they feed and the places where they hide. you may not be able to reduce the amount of pooping, but you can encourage the pleco to not poop right in the center of the view!

hahaha...My female bettas poop a lot 2  ...My male one didnt poop that much :shifty: ...

I wish I could multiply my common pleco, and give one to you...He eats all his own poop!! No need to clean after him!

Well, i don't think i'm gonna add snails...for now..
But i'll just continue to clean constantly and i'm going to check out that pygmy chain sword.
God damnit, it's the one fish i actually paid for that is annyoing me, but when you see them 'fly' in the water, its almost worth it.

I wish there was a poop eatin' plant.

plecos don't eat poop. the only fish that eat poop are scats and they don't eat it often.

if it looks like your pleco is eating his poop, then either its an optical illusion or you should be concerned about his nutrition.

He' going to go bang! :-( What goes in has to come out. Even animals that do eat their poo (think there are mammals) end up pooing it out again. Everybody has to get rid of waste products, otherwise they'd get poisoned.
