How often do you feed? Do they have enough hiding places in the tank? Have you added any chemicals to the tank lately?

Some fish do just sit very still for periods of time.I had a clown loach that would sit in the flow of my filter and just sort of lean over to one side for a while and then swim off happy as larry. Fish are ODD!
