:/ if his water is clean, and ok. there is nothing much you can do. If he has got no visible signs of illness I would think it is old age. sorry.

the water looks clean but should i change it just in case

I inherited a fish who was like that, Fishy-San.

He lived for quite a while being all lazy like that, sitting on the bottom or in some plant, coming up for air and food.
If you have some plant, or something he can rest on closer to the surface so he doesn't have as far to swim, it might make him more comfortable.
I had a weak filter, and he'd swim up to the intake and stick himself to it, and pop off from that for air whenever he felt like it, then go back to reattach. I turned the filter off when he took up doing that, and he'd just hook a fin through and hold on instead. So something to sit on might be good for him.

thankz i guess ill try to get a plant close to the surface then

in my local craft store they have these silk lillies for £3 for 5 of them and they are like a long plastic stalk with a big flat lily egde on the top. Perfect for resting on, may go get myself some

Awwww I have a male that likes to lie down sometimes and this heat is making him rather lazier than normal. Not that I blame him at all!
Since he's still eating and apparently swimming perfectly ok I wouldn't worry too much. But a few live plants to float on the surface are always good for bettas since they enjoy building nests around them and sleeping in them.
