My Fish Look Bored...

awww poor fish  this is why i like cichlids-they are always either breeding, fighting or eating there is never a dull moment... the fish probably like it peaceful in youre tank that way the guppise can concentrate on breeding -no stress and they can swim and chill out in peace. so its not neceserally* a bad thing

*i cant spell

acouple things i do when my fish are boared is put my finger on the glass and move it around. they seem to follow it! try puttin a peice of food just out of the water and see if your fish can jump and get it. Also see if your fish will eat out of your hand! maybe these things will brighten things up!

jump in with them see how you like it in a box :p lol , i agree add a couple more cories and mabey try feeding them something different.

Just a thought

If the above is the stocking in a 10 gallon tank, I would not advise adding more fish. From the photo of your tank in another post, maybe it is just a tad bare. Guppies are very active little fish, they love poking around and exploring. I would say plants. If you don't feel up to real ones, there are very nice silk plants (make sure you don't get sharp plastic corners as they could tear their tails on those).
One of the greatest pleasures in a guppy's life is eating, so if there are any additions you have not yet made to the cuisine, that might perk them up. It is good for them to have veg every few days, and it also gives them a bit of added interest, chewing and getting into it. Flakes must be pretty boring to eat, however nutritious. Try peas (ordinary frozen, lightly boiled, deshelled and crushed), spinach, lettuce, broccoli, broad beans- anything you might be having yourselves really as long as it is not cooked with fat or seasonings. And maybe a weekly treat of livefodd- can be frozen or jellied.

Hang on, I've just seen another thread of yours, where it seems that fish are dying from what is probably a water related problem. So it is probably not boredom that is their main problem. Fish suffering from illness or water problems are likely to appear listless and uninterested.

hmm most of fish are guppies i think you should add more verities.
oh and for you half a gallon tank you should have some baby gupies or tetras

okay!
well i was going to use it for a betta but way too small when i looked them up!!!
and it's actualy 3/4 gallon but not much difference lol!!!
also for the moment i have one guppy with i think fin rot...he came like that
but i didn't ntoice until after i bought him
he's fin is getting brown at the edges and frayed a lil..
and since i already had to many guppies in the tank..at least to many males i thought
i would let him and his buddy that's getting old..[dying old]
to die in peace in there then either just leave them pr exchange them for more females
because at the momeny in the10 gallon tank it's 6males Vs 2females..HORRIBLE.
but you can't exchange them or anything unless if they die..so ya!

It might still be worth treating the fin rot regardless of whether the fish is old or not. I'm sure he'd be a lot happier given half a chance to live a bit longer! Don't let him die just so you can add more females. :/
My Betta had fin rot when I brought him due to other fish nipping at him in the lfs. I treated him for a week with medication and now his fin is growing back and he's a happy, healthy fish.

ya, that's the same with mine--in the tank his fins were nipped badly i guess..
but there's about 2-3mm missing at the end of the tail and then 5mm of brown on the tail..

It would still be worth treating, after all you've got nothing to lose. At least then you'll know you tried to save the little un.

nothing to lose...
haha, ya right--at the moment i've got i'd say about..6$ lol
so i can't really get them anything until maybe next week..but most likely the week after...

if i get enough money and he's still looks like he might make it then i will.
