My Fish Are 'hanging Out' At The Top Of The Tank

Yesterday I brought home three guppies, and they seemed to swim around as a fish normally would. But later in the evening I noticed that they were just sitting at the top of the tank. Not on their side or anything, not gasping for air, just sitting there. Every once in a while they swim around to the bottom though. One of them enjoys just sitting at the bottom and not moving. Although he will jet around occasionally.

Is this normal? Are they simply stressed out from the transition to the new tank?

guppies are normaly mid- top dwelling fish. dont worry, unless there swimming eradicly (?) or are having trouble, there fine.

i take it ur new to fishies ?

Sometimes they hang out at the bottom because of bad water quality. The tank was cycled and you keep up with water changes right?

My guppys swim around the top of the tank down to the bottom. The main ly dwell around the middle or top though. Its an advantage Because if you ever have to net them to move them theyre easy to catch cause they skim around the top
