My First Tropical Tank

Hi this is my first tropical tank and just looking for some advice/comments on how it's looking and how to make it even better

Whats your stocking?
Also do u keep you plants in small terracotta pots? I have been after something like this

yes they came in them when i bought them, from pets at home (not the best i know). But i find it makes it so much easier if i want to move them or when i do a water change
i have 2 platies, 6 female guppies, 2 male guppies, 2 dwarf gouramis, 5 neon tetras and theres a hatchery at the top with some guppy fry

Hi there,

Thats a great looking little starter tank. I usually remove the little terracotta rings, but please let us know how they grow.... I would like to run a tank with potted plants....

One thing I might suggest though, is possibly moving that heater into a more lateral/central position (it will last longer, come on less, and districute heat more evenly) a bit like here:

Yes it looks to be Hemigraphis exotica (Purple Waffle Plant) which is a non aquatic although is often sold as aquatic as it can survive immersed for a while.
