I got some driftwood and was told to soak it in water before i add it to the tank, how long would you suggest to do this for?

Regards

Andy

Been soaking since Saturday, just going to do a good soak now in boiling water.

Thanks,

Yep your spot on, water added on sat.

I have used water conditioner and added nutrafin cycle, All i need now is time :)

As for what fish am going to put in is a good question, am new to all this and would like to use hardy community fish that dont grow too big.

What would you suggest to add first?

Thanks for the great feed back, your all a great help :good:

personally, i would recommend going to boots (the high street store) and getting some liquid pure ammonia. this stuff is invaluable when cycling. also pls read the links neely has given and absorb as much as possible as it will save you soo much grief. i recommend doing a fishless cycle hence the boots ammonia and then when that is done, get some white clouds or danios say 5 just to get you going. keep them for about 3-4 weeks so you get the hang of it and remember the weekly water changes.

Thanks for the info, yes am doing the fishless cycle - well trying.

so far i have added nutrafin biological aquarium supplement cycle and a few flakes of food.

am going to test my tap water for ph levels to help me choose the correct fish, as for adding ammonia - i will do this asap.

nice tank ive just got the exact same one about a month ago lol,ive added links to my tank in this part of the forum.
