Hi what is great live plant to bring down ammonia and nitrites

Floating plants like water sprite, frogbit and water lettuce do a great job along with fast growing stem plants like Anacharis, Limnophila sessiliflora, moneywort etc

Water sprite id highly recommend because its very beneficial, looks great and you can plant it in the substrate aswel as float

I want to ad some live plants for first time but never done live plants, was recommended Amazon swords and Java fern , do I have to trim the plants

Only now and then with swords and ferns. Very low maintance plants

for bringing down ammonia use floating plants like duckweed, frog bit and salvinia. Also, you should make your own post because you keep using other people's threads.

Live plants beginner

Hi wanted to try live plants in my 75 g freshwater to bring ammonia down , should I try amazon swords or Java fern, and do I have to trim or maintain the plants , have gravel on bottom
