just caught a glimpse of plec on front of tank last night and noticed this , any ideas/solutions needed please??

I don't know much about diseases or infections, in my research one particular virus that keeps cropping up as a common virus in plecos is lymophcystis virus/disese.
 
May be worth researching on this and see if this is the same or similar to what your pleco has.

Fish virus mostly affect fins, behavior and coloration. External growths like that though..hmm.. looks like some kind of fungal growth.

Hopefully someone better pitches in on this. Kinda scary lol
