Would the substraite be ok in water with no plants yet?

Just the tank all set up with the substaite, water and bogwood etc. then get the plants on friday.

My dad said the substraite if I put it in the tank with no plants etc. it will loose all the nutrients or somthing?

i cant see a problem with it, but i think you best do it all in one big swoop:)

i dont know about the liquid lol, i think just 1ml should be okay lol, and tie a tablet down with the roots, but im am so unsure lol

ermmm, ill try and find out more, but i might not be on for a few days, need to revise lol, exams tomorrow and wednesday

haha, take care till then mate!

Ok, so again..how does that co2 injector work :p ?

I've got a bit of bogwood, I want javamoss to grow on that ermm, a kind of grass foor at the front, a few tall bushy plants on either side (left and right) and then a kind of big wall plant at the back.

I think i will just get like 6-7 different plants, see which ones go the best and which dont. remove the ones that dont look so good and keep the ones that do.

Guess planting is all about trial and error?

Here are links to information about CO2 injection

While there may be some elements of trial and error, it will save you frustration and money if you research your plants before you purchase them. Figure out what you expect your lighting levels, CO2 usage, and fert regimen to be and then pick the plants that will best adapt to your situation. Ask around. Check out the member's section, which I just repinned. For me, that section is too valuable to have it buried. It represents the results of the research of other members, and you'll get a great look at scapes and a large variety of planted tanks.
