I just got him today.. I think hes really nice looking. Is he just a reg oscar or some certain kind of oscar? He's so lazy, he just lays in corners against the glass and randomly moves to another spot to lay in.

You've got a common black Oscar and he's behaving as these wimps always do in a new home - as he grows and gets used to the tank he'll become active and more outgoing. Right now he's just a baby with over 12" to grow and it's good to have hiding spots until he shows he doesn't need them anymore.

I remember when I first got my oscar (Montie Python).. He was so small! Now one year later he is at least 10 1/2 inches long! He is so playful! Oscars are bursting with personality!

Not to long ago I bought 2 tiger oscars from my LFS, I made the mistake of putting them in with my tiger shovel nose, and within a few hours one of them had already been eated, I then moved the other to a smaller tank temperarily. I really like oscars but have heard that they can be very agressive, I havn't had it for that long. I would appreciate some addvice. :fish:

I love tiger oscars   . Haven't had one since my stupid dad got rid of our last one that was 14 inches at a local pond 6 years ago. poor guy, too big for our tank and too big for my dads wallet
