My First Malawi!

Hey all, I just got my very first malawi He/she is an electric yellow lab and was sold to me as a male but i just want to make sure before i buy 2 more...The fish is around 2" and here he/she is,

hes a he.in the 2nd and 4th picture you can see the egg spot on the caudel fin

These are very difficualt to sex.


Femlaes tend to be slighlt poorer colour and usualt duller black marking.
I would think u got a male there, but thie not the easiest to sex.

The egg stop good sign, but i've seen it in many females as well

Sweet, i will go ahead and order another 2 females tomorrow. Is it best to have females the same size or larger than the male or is it better tem being smaller?

He'll want to show them who's boss as he's the first in the tank, but there are very socerial fish and while he'll constantly chase the females around it's all in the nature.

And befor long you have little baby yellow lab's as there are baby machines in view.

you would be better with 1 male to 3 females
