Hi everyone!

My name is Callum and about 5 months ago I converted an old 30L BiOrb cold water into a tropical aquarium and have realised how much of a fun challenge fish keeping can be! On my journey to gain knowledge about this new hobby i found this amazing forum. I love the community spirit and all the great advice, I look forward to being a part of it! I cycled the tank (i learnt about that on TFF) and stocked it with 5 male Guppies and then a couple of months later 7 Neon Tetras. This forum has been a great help already but now i finally became a member I'm sure its usefulness will be limitless!

Welcome to TFF callum!
I just want to let you know that I do not think that neon tetras could live in any tank less than 60 liters permanently. If it were me I'd set up a 20 gallon for your tetras or rehome them to an LFS. :)

Thanks for the advice TallTree01, this is a temporary home I am currently looking at a new tank for them, do you think 60L would be big enough for them or is that still too small? My plan was 60L for the Tetras and my current 30L for the Guppies?

Yes a 60 liter will be fine for them callum. :)
I have neons too. Such great li'l fishies.

I am the same, love them! I think they are the most amazing fish! My name gives a hint to that! Haha, I knew it would't be long before I had to get a new tank, i'm looking forward to it! Thanks again for your help!

welcome to this forum, i am new to here too just joined today. :)

From my experience neon tetras need  20US Gallon long fish tank but 60 liter tank should be fine as minimum as long as its establish tank, neon tetras are sensitive and active little fish which needs establish fish tank no younger than 5 months. they very sensitive to water quality changes and to stress. Also neon tetras are very prone to neon tetra diseases and they can also easily catch other diseases and bacteria infections too..
