ive just bought my first discus a few days ago, what do you think, do they look ok.

I presume you have more than two?

The ones you have look OK, though they may be on their way to being stunted Not badly mind, and big water changes and power feedings may go a long way to pulling them back to a very nice fish, but that is a lot of work... All in all, a very nice couple of red turks They should colour up some more when more settled and have a larger group if you have just two
