Well Im excited to have added the final fish to my 90L heavily planted tank. I bought 2 Rams today, with the one pictured having great colors, the other I picked was really yellow, pretty much his whole body. After looking around more on the net, it looks like one might be Bolivian, while the other German Blue??? Couldnt get a good pic tonight, but Ill try again 2morow, for the other fish. Im hoping maybe the color is so different cuz its a female? I read some sexing information but havent determined it yet.

anyhoo. this is where they live. with 6 harlequins.

thats the same fish pictured.
im really suprised at the awesome colors, and am hoping they do well for me. so far so good.

Looks more like a German Blue Ram to me. Still, very nice. Hope your water is soft and acidic...

um, yeh, they're not bolivian rams, they're normal rams

is there some good picture references to tell the difference between german blues, and bolivians? cuz i have a feeling maybe the other one is bolivian, since hes not nearly as colorful. yay mislabeled LFS..

also, it wouldnt be a problem if i had one of each would it?

They're both M.ramirezi.

A little young for a 100% accurate sexing but the top one looks to be a Male the bottom one Female based on the shape of the anal fins.

That is a female M.ramirezi

Would you agree she doesn't look too well, Standby?
Make sure your water's really warm and clean and get her eating something. I wouldn't be surprised if she showed signs of whitespot over the next few days, bless her.

P.S; I really like your tanks, Crazy :)

Yeah I'd agree, either that or it could be from a poor blood line, I also agree with the comments on temperature, what other fish are in the tank OP? ramirezi ideally should be kept between 28-32oC, lower temperatures can suppress their immune system leaving them susceptible to disease.
