Well, here is my first 30 gallon aquarium... I am working on decorating it with a Pirate's Theme... Currently i have 2 decorations in it from "The Pirates of the Caribbean"

This tank is not fully setup yet, so it may look bare at the moment, but i will be getting some fake plants, and a few more decorations for it.
I will post more pictures after it is fully setup.

Oooooohhh! Fancy decor! How much did those cost ya???

the ornaments in the tank only cost me $15 at walmart, they were on sale, and were orignaly $19.99.... they came with that background (the one thats in the middle), but it wasen't long enough for my tank, so i bought that blue shinny stuff at petsmart to entend it to the sides.... it looks pritty cool imo.

I seen the same exact ornaments in another pet shop in my area, they wanted $38 for them.... so after seeing that price, $15 is a damn good price :hyper:

LOL when I read the title I thought sunken pirate ships, haven't seen one of these yet. I'v seen those in lfs's by me but haven't ever seen them in tanks, looks good  You should put in a senegal bichir and name it the kracken, though not sure if their compatible with angels.

Looking forward to seeing progress on this tank

Nice.. those long tanks are awesome... what are your plans for fish?

I'm still researching, and looking into what kind of fish im going to be getting... so i'm not 100% sure yet, but i know i am defenently getting an "Angel Fish".

Angelfish need a tank that's at least 18" deep, and I think yours is shorter looking at it? Sorry if I've got that wrong.

My 9 year old son would love your tank, he's very much into POTC like all kids are at the mo.

oh, i didnt know that.... my tank is 12" deep.... may i ask why they need a 18" deep tank?

My tank is 36"L x 18"W x 12"H....is that good enough for angelfish?

I had an angel in a 12 inch tall tank and it was always like leaning to a side and bending its fins... I felt bad for it so I took it to the LFS and some guy wanted it so I gave it to him...

Oh... well how big to angelfish get?... all the ones i see at the lfs have the small ones.... they're about maybe 2-3 inchs long... and about the same in height... so i dont see why they wouldent fit in a 12" tank... unless they get real big.

They get big usually, can't really tell until they grow. Your best bet would be to talk to a lfs and ask them to give you a small full grown angel if anybody ever donates one to them.
Here's my angels in a 18" deep tank, they wouldn't be comfortable in a 12" tank when they spread their fins out all the way and mine aren't the long tall variety either. Mind that is without his fins being spread out all the way too. Sorry you can't get one. O their fin span from top to bottom all depends on the variety, usually well over 8"
