Hey just a small question in regards to my filter.
I replaced my Fluval 1 filter with a Elite filter, which is working much better than fluval however...

the current it gives off is quite strong and i had alot of mes in my tank which has gone down concidrably but there are specs of stuff floating around the water - the water itself is crystal, except for the specs!
i was watching it last night
and when i watched, specs where being drawn up into the current before managing to be sucked into the filter entrance.
is the stuff going in or is it just swishing about? is there a certain way i could position my current so it stops it?

it has helped clear the water and reduce waste, but the floating 'bits' is annoying.

Im assuming you mean an Elite Stingray filter?

What size of tank, inhabitants, and stingray size do you have?

Both the fluval 1 and the Stingray are good for a tank with 1 or 2 fish, anything more and you should look at something decent tbh.

Hi there I have a similar problem too.

I've been patient, but I think the filter supplied with my Aquaart 60l

http://valueaquatics.co.uk/tetra-aquaart-a...ium-p-1740.html

Is just no very good. i tdoesnt have particularly good flow rate, and even though i have ceramic media in the chamber at the bottom, bioballs after that, floss and sponge, my water is still full of particulate matter.

The fish seem fine, and I have reduced feeds to try and reduce it, plus a regular 20% water change weekly, and filter cleaning every 2 weeks in aquarium water ;P ).

I've tried some one of the 'water cleaning' products that I assume are meant to coagulate particulate matter so it gets bigger and can be picked up/sinks more easily. But this seemed to have little or no effect.

Any ideas? or do I just have to put up with until I can afford a better filter?

10 gallon with 1 platy, 4 tetras and 4 ADFS
the waste itself seems to have cleared up , but its the little specs of poo fish food that arnt getting a chance to go into the filter cos the current is picking it back up again like a cycle.. if you get me

the general waste on the bottom etc has improved 90% since i changed from Fluval.

what sort of filter are we talking about? ive only just bought this one so id rather not change it -_-

edit: btw it is not the smallest stringray filter. i chose the bigger one
