Yea I took it out right when it happened.. It was fine when I fed them, then about 5 minutes later it stuck its head up and went vertical, and shook all weird. Then I noticed it's stomach all messed.. It's stomach wasn't messed when I fed them 5 minutes earlier..

As I said before, it's a lot easier for you to tell someone else to euthanize their fish.. no need to give me attitude-filled responses.

The other fish are still fine.. I'm going to change about 20% of the water every other day for a few more days.

it may have been an extreme case of constipation... was the fish in anyway fat or bloated?

i would still advise the epsom salts at 5g a litre for a couple of days... it will clear all your fish out if they are harbouring anything similar.

It didnt look any different then it ever has before... As I said, 5 minutes before it happened I fed them... I looked right at it, it looked perfectly fine, and it ate.. so I don't think it could have been any sort of constipation.. I'm pretty sure it was some nasty bacteria.. it was very odd.

I'm going to pick some epsom salts up today and keep hoping for the best.

It died overnight.... lots of red areas on the body and fins... must have been some serious bacteria... don't know where it would have come from..

Keeping a close eye on the tank it was in before it went into quarintine.

Hopefully nothing that will spread to the other fish.
sorry to hear of your loss vancouver,, hope your other fish are ok and nothing as spread. :/

Did the fish look bloated before it exploded, the red patches was poisoning septicemia and the bacteria can leak into the tank from the fish, and especially now that it exploded.
I would do a water change, and maybe add some melafix for now.
Did the red patches only appear once the fish exploded.

I've said many times the fish looked no different then normal........

the red areas only appeared after it died.

it's got to be a very fast acting bacteria to cause such trauma so quickly normally such a thing would take weeks - and the fish would almost certainly show signs of illness.... are you sure the fish wasn't injured in some other way?

If it happens again,(hopefully it dosent try my technic( spelled wrong) and dont forget areation). I am sorry about the loss and hope it never happens again.
