My Faith Is Restored In Petsathome

went to Petsathome today, didnt come out with the Fluval Duo Deep 800 i wanted (mum said no..again) but whilst there i thought id max out my 4.5 with another Bronze cory,
so went to the fish section when to ask the lady if i could have a cory, and before she let me she asked me questions first how old was my tank, what size, what fish are in there etc..
for once they had someone who had a clue and she answered to the scientific name wow
my faith is restored, so 10min's later i come out with a Tetra master drip test £17.00, some tetra Daphnia and a beloved little 3/4" bronze my faith is returned almost, still saw 1 dead goldfish, when i inquired she said that she was doing a dead count oh well now my other has a friend

Not that knowledgable as she has gone and helped you overstock your tank 4.5 gallons is no where near big enough for them fish and barbs need to be kept in bigger groups.

to the point, we are going ot upgrade to the fluval duodeep 800, yes i know that i need larger groups and at the moment it isnt over stocked at 4" its maxed out

point.. but...gah its not my fault about the tank have a word with ma mum, she's the one that keeps changing her mind, and i thought that it be abetter idea to the other a friend as they are social fish hmm and maybe this will finally prompt her...hmm

i have a job which i have saved the money for(20 a weekend+10 a month pocket money), its just my mums permisson in the way, one minute she is ok well check the prices the next she is like wait amonth what can i do?

Tell your Mum if you wait the prices might go up. Which is true! PS I went into Pets at Home, Redditch yesterday to buy a couple of plants. Have to say their fish all looked well and tanks nice and clean. Still wouldn't ask them for advice though!

hmm after futher rows and argument, my mum said that i can thave the tank till after my GCSE's which will be 2 months, i start in 3 weeks time but atleast she said i could definatly have it then, and i dont think the price will change as there is two petsat home local, and both stock

Well, that's good news. 2 months isn't too long. Plus you will be too busy revising to set up a tank, won't you?! At least that's a definite date. You can be thinking and researching which fish you would like meanwhile. Unless you already know.

dont it almost haunts my dreams, and ive got a seperate thread for the stoking but it needs editin because the tank been set back 2 months, but it ok, because my fish are relitivly small and if they grow too large oh well just another reason for the tank

● Vesicularia “Christmas” moss.
● Limnobium-Laevigatum (floating plant.).
● Java fern.
● Cabormba Castiniana.






Wood: Bogwood, Mopani wood.
Fish:

Definite

● 3 Albino Tiger Barbs (ATB) max out at 2.5” each
● 3 Tiger Barbs (TB) max out at 2.5” each
● 4 Bronze corys max out at 3” each


Likely (with the remaining 8G)

● 3 Otocinclus (otos) max out at 1” each
● Cleaner shrimp of some sort at .5-1” each


Possibilities (with the remaining 8G)

● A small plec of some sort i.e. clown at 5” each
● Pigmy puffer
● Upside-down catfish
● Dwarf cichlid i.e. cockatoo
● Flying fox
● Red tailed black shark (RTB)
● Ancistrus a.k.a. bristlenose
● Some form of Loricariid
