buy a bag of filter wool, thats what i do, then put a thin piece between the 2 sponges.. i think its spotless tho

Great looking tank and fish, and as said above filter wool does the trick.

I'd ran out of most chemical testers, only managed to get one done when I first put the discus in - so Ive bought some new stuff.

Just as a log (for myself really), results are


Ammonia - 0
Nitrite - 0
Nitrate - 0
pH - 7.8
Gh - 24
Kh - 12 degrees /


Putting a bag of ceramic and a bag of peat in tonight.

Left the peat in a bucket of water overnight - pH was 6.8, Gh was 27 - odd!

Ive resisted the urge to get discuss so far but they look great there and its really tempting ha ha

PH 7.8 isn't good for discus, i suggest some Acid buffer.
