this is my custom 75 gal me and my dad made. it took around 20+ hours over the space of a month to complete. its made of plywood on the back, sides and bottom which is screwed into the walls around (it is in an old cupboard space)
i then painted it all black and then instead of sealing the wood with some sort of epoxy we bought a load of glass cut to size and fitted that in with silicone, this glass is only 5mm but its backing onto the plywood which is backing onto a brick wall. the front pane of glass is 10mm untoughened which holds very well.

the hardware is as follows:

eheim ecco 2286 filter
2 x 150w heaters
2 x standard household strip lighting

the pic i have posted only has a few guppies and plants but now my fish list looks like this:

3 medium sized angels
4 pearl gouramis
4 orange platy
1 blue/purple betta
5 little guppies
6 cardinal tetras ( soon to be 5 by the looks of one of them :( )

well thats enough talking...

more to come :D

well, i would not keep a betta in such a large tank. especially with gouramis.
and the angels will eat the guppies and tetras when they get larger.

more pics as promised (its hard taking good pics... as these pics demonstrate :p)

I would be worried about the male betta and the 4 gouramis...My betta chewed my gourami's tail off and it died an hour later.

they're alrite... the betta keeps himself to himself and occasionally starts a fight with his own reflection

Good job on the custom tank Dude....If I have a house i'll probably do the same thing too.....I wanna have a 200 gallon tank that's in my basement wall....that would be cool..... :D

nah they get along fine
um, maybe now, but wait till they get bigger.
yeah my betta was fine with in my 10 gallon community but then when i moved him to my 55 he killed my swordtail within 3 hours

Your betta will go after those guppies too, especially if you have male guppies. But other then that, your tank looks great! Any chance you can get a close up shot of your angels  I love angels :p

Bettas can be trickey in large community tanks. They can either kill or be killed and not many people are lucky enough to get it to work out. My ropefish didnt like my Betta and ripped his tail off. Fortunately, he survived. Just keep an eye on him. Awsome tank though! I really wish I could install one like that in my wall... :-(
