My Corner 55g

if those pics are when your camera is playing up, could you make my camera play up too lol great pics

I didn't mean it in a nasty way, I should of said IMO, but I really do think the silicone lines spoil it (i'm not trying to offend anyone here), I just think it could have been curved and not had to use silicone, would of made a world of difference. Sorry if anyone took it the wrong way!

....no worries.....I thought that was what you had in mind.

I do my fishkeeping on a bit of a budget, every tank I have/had is as near to free as I can get it, so I have to work with what I get.

Just as a bit of history, I got this tank off another (very generous) member here, removed a lot of the glass, cleaned it up and re-sealed it. I am still a little dissapointed at how much silicon I had to use in the joints, but it was my first "build", so I was still learning how to use it.
Thread here: http://www.fishforums.net/index.php?showto...07395&hl=corner about the "project".

As far as the camera goes, it is a Sony 3.2 megapixel thing, getting on for 3 or 4 years old.......we were using it on the beach on our recent holiday and it has sand in it and grates as it opens (when the shutter cover opens, sometimes you have to hit it to get it to open)...

....I will try to take a couple of pics of it in situ.....

Y'know what, if you used clear silicone it would look miles better, it does look nice in the project pics, it's just the silicone on it now, maybe you might want to change to clear silicone one day? By the way, good job you've done of it, it still looks like a proffesional tank, just the white silicone spoils it.

:p It is clear silicon.......not even I am that silly....

......I have just upgraded the lights, and I had 5 blue LEDs on at the time the photos were taken..........that and the fact that the camera isn't behaving too well at the moment picked up a refraction in the silicon...

...as I said.......the human eye is better than the camera........you don't tend to notice the silicon at all..... :D

Don't listen to me, i'm blonde. Can I just ask one question, how did you fill in the knocks in the cabinet? It's just I should be getting a free 30" tank with stand and hood and I think it will be old (as it's free), and will want to restore it if it is.

Lovely angels - I keep mine with neons too, they've been brought up with them - and my neons dont nip, and my angels dont eat them ;) I even have a baby platy (the first time anything has bred and lived on in our community tank as fry = free food) that's survived in there, despite his hiding place being the lovenest of my two marbleds  Gorgeous set up you have, I'm sure the silicone doesn't show up in "real life", just the same as the water marks and kids handprints on mine (only show up in photos and make my tank look a tip!).

Just wondering how long those eupterus are going to last before they grow too big for your second (narrow) tank though  Can imagine wedged in syno!

Neal..........wood filler........stick it in.......let it harden ( :hey: :hey: ).....rub it down ( :hey: ) and then varnish/stain or paint...

...electric sanders make life a lot easier.... :D

The Synos have been at their current size for nearly a year.....and that is around 6 inches nose to tail.....maybe seven if you include all the flowing fins.

With the 6.5 inch wide tank, he doesn't sit on the bottom front to back, he has his rocks he hides behind......and when he turns round, he takes up less room in the turn.....it is not ideal.....but he is only lacking the front to back swimming..

:D .....and thanks........the angels are pretty big.....they have been in there since around Christmas time (or was it November?)......they were pretty small when we first got them.........but they have grown.
