Ok before I say anything I have read alot of the posts on here are ICH and how to treat it etc.

However My Question is about my clown loach. Monday I look at him and he is fine nothing wrong having a good time swimming around. Last night i get out of work, look at him and one side of him has about 5 white dots. So I freak out and read all the posts. I wake up this mourning and take a look at him, nothing. All gone. It wasn't like it was something stuck to him because I would have noticed that it really looked like ich because I have seen it on fish you get at the pet store and i stay away from them.

What is it? IS it ICH in stage 2 where it falls off and goes into the substrate? If so I have studied all my other fish none of them have a single spot on them at all.

Thanks for any help you can give me guys.

well the first thing to consider is are you sure the spots were ich?

It could be that they've dropped off into the substrate or it could be that he just had a few grains of sand on his side yesterday!

So the first thing to do is look up as much about ich as you can and try to ascertain if what you saw was definately ich or not.

I did read alot about ICH and I don't think it could have been sand being I do not use sand in my tank. Im sure a small peddle or stone would have fallen off upon moving aorund the tank as quick as he does.

Not sure what to do really from tis point, wait it out, or treat the water anyway.

If you're convinced that it was ich and not something else then i would medicate now.
