I finally managed to find a suitable male to pair with my female motoro, he's a little on the large size so she has some catching up to do but hopefully soon we'll be hearing the splitter splatter of tiny fins.

Hi CFC :)

Those are so cool! Whenever I see stingrays at the lfs, I wish I had room to keep them. :D

Can't wait to hear some pitter patter ! Beautiful ray

Well done CFC.

How will you go about removing the pups after the birth, or do they exhibit parental care to protect them from your beasties?

No they dont show any brood care, the pups come out as perfectly formed minature versions of the parents and just swim off and start life on their own immiedietly after birth. If i notice the female getting fatter i'll transfer her to a seperate tank till she gives birth.

I got the female about a year ago from a branch of MA and the male came from Wildwoods in Enfield, motoros arent that difficult to find, though i have found males are a bit scarce.

Gorgeous!!! So happy you found a mate!! Will be looking forward to your future postings when they finally breed. That will be so interesting to read about

Hey,
wow, ur lucky to have the space to keep them! Where do you keep them?

Ive got them in my 10 gallon community tank at the moment but if they start to breed i'll move them to a 5 gallon breeding tank.

 only joking, theyre in a 200 gallon tank with various large catfish and oddballs
