I woke up this morning and went to do "the rounds", feeding my fish and all. When I got to my bettas I noticed that one of my Kritter Keepers was on the floor, neatly arranged on top of some books and papers. Slightly confused and wondering what it was doing down there, I bent down to take a better look and noticed........THERE WAS NO WATER IN IT!!!!!!! My poor betta was laying lifeless at the bottom..... Apparently, when my boyfriend came home last night in a drunken stupor, he crashed into my nightstand and knocked the tank over, draining all the water from the slats on the top of the lid. I can only imagine how my poor betta suffered and just thinking about it makes me sick to me stomach!!! Bleh...I feel soooo terrible!!

On an off note, a betta that I had for a week died as well yesterday. I don't know what was wrong with him...His color kinda sucked and he had gold patches all over him. Any ideas? :-( :-( :-( :-( :-( :-( :-( :-( :-( :-( :-( :-( :-( :-( :-( :-( :-( :-( :-( :-(

That's not his fault if he was born that way..... :-(

I've never heared of fresh water velvet before but mabey this creepy 12 year old know more than I do. Althought I wouldn't sugest killing the "feesh killer" i would dump him If he came home drunk enough to not notice that he killed one of the animals you care for (and that is a nasty way to go).

There are plenty of fish in the sea so you can replace him and the bettas in one fowl swoop. I'd offer myself but I'm only 17 and In alaska so... :D

(I think most are missing the point...)

I am sorry for your loss. Did he feel any type of remorse?

:( Sorry about your Betta

Chris JT

FreshwaterGal: Great question, did he?

Was he jealous of your fish?
