Could they be different sexes? I don't know what sex they are yet, but they hate each other, they seem to fight constantly.

Are they going to kill each other?

*sighs* what do I do? :(

Edit> I have a 10lt tank with my Betta in it and a 22lt with 33 1cm Molly fry in it, can I put one of them in one of those tanks?

Edit> I think they're both female as they both "appear" to have blue spangles in their black blotch (although they've got blue spangles all the way along their sides) and they both "appear" to have the same sort of dorsal fin.

Sounds like 2 boys hun.

Do they have a female in there as well that they are fighting over?

If it was a male and a female, you would expect alot of chasing to be going on, but if they are fighting I suggest its 2 boys.

The weaker one may die.

Hi Rhiannon, I had three originaly but middle sized ram chased big ram to death, big ram was definately female. So now I only have the two and have spent the last hour or so going back through old cichlid posts trying to find info' on sexing.

I think I have 2 females as they seem to have blue speckles through the black dot BUT when looking at them on an angle they appear to have blue speckles all the way down their sides!

I just can't tell whether they're boys or girls or one of each! This is driving me nuts, all my other fish are easy!

If you have a camera and can get some pics up, someone will sex them for you definitly on here.

I can imagine its frustrating!

yes and I've taken some pictures, but the upload option isn't in my reply window, so I can't do it

check their dorsal fins out. if its slightly extended on the first three rays (the black bit) then they're male. if they seem to fit in with the rest of the rays, they're female

females are generally smaller, stockier fish with a pinkish tinge to their belly region. in good condition and/or spawning this colour gets more intense

its possible that they are just fighting over territory, depending on how big your tank is.
