My fighter has gone!! :S

Went away for the weekend and came back all fish are fine bar my missing fighter! The three female fighters we have are fine, looked all around the glass and cant see him!

Bye Bye little fighter swim around safley whever you are now mate! :byebye:

tank size?
tank mates?
checked the floor, they do jump?

DD

Siamese fighters can jump out of the tank and get a fair distance away from it, so check around the tank to see if this is so. Also check under tank ornements, behind things like heaters and filters and also in any densely planted areas- you shouldn't realy keep male fighters though with females as they can stress each other out.

::nods:: He may have hopped out even if he was being stressed and hassled by the girls, or they could have tackled and killed him, and whatever is left is somewhere in your filter. Three females is not ideal even for females, so fights can be expected. With a male in the tank, fights can be guarenteed.

My guess if he is truly gone from the tank and not under the gravel, in the filter, or in an ornament is that he hopped out and is somewhere dried out under a peice of furniture. If you have a cat or dog, they could have eaten the body as well.

Sorry to hear about the probable loss.

Uhm, he didn't by any chance share his tank with the females did he ? :/

Well if that's the case, it's little wonder that he's gone. Probably shredded to mince meat and eaten by the females. No joke.....
Males and females should not ever be housed together unless you have a tank the size of a lake.
