I put in Bio-Spira in my tank (20gal US, 80l i believe) on Day 2 of my tank. Day 1 I added just the gravel, fake plants, and 2 hardy Black Phantom Tetra's. I had not read about fishless cycling until the day after, when I discovered Bio-Spira. Anyways, I put in Bio-Spira after the tank had already been exposed to ammonia. I have read that Bio-Spira does not like to play catch-up and I do believe it shows in my tanks cycling.
Today marks week 3 for me. I'm on day 3 of high Nitrite levels.
Other than planting a few plants ( 9,actually, and disrupting the bacteria development ) over 4 days(4-5 days after I began) I pretty much left the tank to itself. I added a Seachem product called Stability in it's normal doses everyday for a week from day 1.
What I'm getting at, however, is that Bio-Spira did not work for me. I did not follow the rules so I was pushing it anyways. Had I of followed the rules as instructed, my results may have varied. What I am making this thread for is, as I have so shortly put it, to follow directions. I didn't research before I setup my tank and, in the end, spent more money than I should have.
I'm hoping to finish my cycling in a few days so my fish can finally breathe easily and relax.
