Are bettas really happy in such small things? just wondering

Those tanks aren't even 1/2 of a gallon..I would get rid of it and get a new home for your betta of at least 1 gallon (preferably 2-5)

this debate over the right tank/ bowl size will go on forever, lots of people with differant views.

IMO i dont like to see them without a filter /heater and in at least 5 gallons

i wish they made changing colour lights in regular aquariums...how awesome would a cube aquarium look with glass pebbles and a colour changing light....obviously one bigger than about 13 litres

I completely agree with shaz3271 as far as the tank setup.

They do sell colored lights for aquariums, I'm pretty sure they have ones that change colors too instead of being just one solid color. They are called laser lights and they go in the water.

As others have said, definitely get yourself a bigger tank for your guy. It's a neat looking decoration, but that's all it should be used for.. decoration.. not a fish "tank". I'd just dump all the water out, dry it, then fill it with more glass marbles. It'll still look pretty, while your little pet betta has a nicer larger aquarium with decor and all of that good stuff in it.

Pretty boy!
And yeah, I saw those lava lamp betta bowl things at WallyWorld (Walmart)
Right beside the thing where you hook up your i-pod to the betta cube thing...
Both I don't totally agree with....

But nice boy!

I know about the size thing for the bettas!

To tell you the truth I kinda feel the same way. But at the moment I can't afford a new tank for him nor do I have anywhere to put it.

He seems happy enough. Eats and swims.

Not to mention I don't want to be rude to my friend and be like wellllll I don't like it. She would be heartbroken.

I think it's an ok temp container, size-wise...But the surface area of the water seems a little small...I wouldn't want to keep him in there for very long.

I would upgrade your tank in the near future though.
