i just bought him today, although he is swimming round the tank he seems to keep going back to the heater, and pretty much staysat the top of the tank is that normal??

Yup, sounds like he's checking out his new environment, give him a few days, he'll settle down.

i turned the heater up a bit and hes perked up to was on 24 but put it up to 26 hes lush
