Well i got this pair from victorea earnest at the pabs show about a week ago and i have already witnessed a spawn attempt so they msut like something about the tank they are in, both attempts i believe yielded no eggs but if they did it twice they will do it again. even though the male keeps his fins clamped and usually has stress bars unless hes feeding or courting the female.
here are a few pics:

Are those bettas? Strange, but interesting looking.

yes, they are a species of wild mouthbrooding bettas native to and area of thailand
very wonderful fish with excellent personalities

They're looking very beautiful. They look so much better than when you first showed them to us!

Are you hoping they'll spawn and have the fry survive to adulthood?

thanks, yes i am hoping they spawn soon, they have embraced at least 6 times unsuccessfully or so i have seen but i have only had them for about a week and a half so i will be giving them about 2 meals of mysis and brine a day. the pics look better because i fed them first adn the water isnt as brown from the ketapang vital.

thansk for the comments
