Ok I left it a few days before I posted this because I didnt want to panic and complain straight away but dewie isnt eating anything! he wont touch blood worm or brineshrimp or live brineshrimp or flakes or hikari betta. I even tried pea but he just doesnt care! Ive checked his water there is nothing wrong and he has absolutely no marks on him or his fins and he just doesnt seem as perky :(

how long has he bin without food exactly? have you seen him poo?
a healthy betta can last over a week without food so i would try not to worry to much

I havent seen him poo hence I tried the old pea! but have also fed him every morning so do you think he just might be full and not interested?

Just wondering how Dewie's doing?
Is he eating/livening up yet?

Oh thanks :$ thats so nice of you, he has just started eating again tonight actually! he had a bit of bloodworm and I was so pleased. He's a picky little fellow but I think he must have just given in! he's still a bit wary of live food he gets hold of it and then spits it out!

Such a relief all round.
It's scary when they turn down the bloodworms...

he he I know! I wondered if he was missing company, the male he used to flare at that lived next door died of old age a week before he stopped eating, you never know do you? Perhaps it was friendly rivalry

OMG, so one loss of a long-time pet and then Dewie goes off his feed...
You have been having a time...

I know thank you for being so kind. He does seem to be doing better today and he ate again :) Im going to go to my LPS tomorrow to get a new betta so hopefully that should perk him up even more having a new dude to flare at :)

Bet it does.
If their eyesight really is supposed to be so bad, you could tell him it's a babe - that ought to do it.
(Just don't ever let him find out you lied...)
