He's starting school in September. Who knows where the time goes? :(

Beautiful photos Sue. I love the last one, so adorable!
Time does go so quickly, doesn't seem five minutes since my girls were so little, now they are 12 and 14!

He is just so gorgeous. Those baby pics are too cute. Love the pic of him asleep on the lap. Shame. He looks so peaceful and comfortable.

That last pic is just so gorgeous. When was he born?? My little girl Katelyn will be starting school in September too. Very sad about it. I still remember being in labour like it was yesterday. Her oldest brother started Juniors last September and my middle son starts Juniors next year September.

You really don't get enough time to appreciate their baby and toddler time. I am a stay at home mom and it still feels like I haven't had enough time with them  .

Beautiful pics.

:D

Nov22nd 2002 - he was a month early, hence why he is all wired up in the first pic in NICU Northampton.

You think they'll be little forever, but I cried putting these photo's together, he just seems so small still but hes so grown up - which is the ultimate goal, to work, yourself out of a job - but how come the days fly by so quickly you barely even notice until you see how big they suddenly are.

Yeah, I know what you mean. You spend the first few weeks after they're born wishing they were a few weeks older and doing a bit more. Those first 6 weeks drag by so slowly. But after that, you blink and it's their first birthday. You cry, because you're so proud and before you know it, you're crying at their 7th birthday!! It's just so unfair.

Sorry to see the little man was in NICU. How long for?? My first was in NICU for 2 weeks, full term but very ill and needed a major op. Had 2 more after that and is now fine. He'll be 8 in a few months, although you'd think he's reach his teens already.

Then my second son was in NICU for 7 weeks with loads of problems, also full term. Still have problems, but at least now we know what the problems are.

Thankfully our little girl is just fine. She was born Nov06 2002. So she's a few weeks older than Dylan. Bet we'll both be needing the hankies this September when they start full time school. I have no idea what I'll do with myself when she does!!!

Keep well
Carmen ;)

Another NICU mommy :) we know how it feels, it's an elite club that you never wanted to join eh? lol

I was at work on Nov 22nd and I hadn't felt him move much since about 6am, I kept prodding him and poking him, I made him move twice but I knew something was wrong. At 12:30 I decided that would do and wandered to the hospital and told them something was wrong with my baby, they put the monitor on and he had a steady heartbeat but with no fluctuations or acceleration's so they knew something was up. Emergency c/s at 16:30, born at 16:52 with APGAR of 1 that became 0 before they could record it, so he got restarted and put into NICU on morphine and a respirator and anti-seizure meds and all that jazz...Didn't hold him or hear him cry for three days, he was to ill to mess with.

They say he unplugged his cord and stopped moving to conserve oxygen. clever stuff...no lasting damage thankfully :)
He was suppose to be born Dec 16th. He came home on Dec 12th instead.

Tell me your story quickly before they catch us having a "general conversation" and stop us, lol

Yes it does, it's scary.

You find yourself sneaking in and holding them while they are sleeping just so you can lay them on their backs and rock them again, they won't tolerate it when they are awake.

Everyone warned me it went by so quick but I didn't really understand how fast it would be.

On the plus side...there is nothing in the world so amazing as listening to an excited four year old explain the plot of a movie to you, it's hysterical, I love it.

I love this child.

Dylan: "Mommy, can we dance?"
Sue: "Of course we can dance baby"

We start dancing to no music, holding like a waltz, one arm round each other and our hands clasped out front, rocking from foot to foot. He likes to dance the old fashioned way, to old fashioned music. Dylan is an old fashioned kind of guy.

Dylan: "Mommy, remember when we danced last time?"
Sue: "Yes darling I remember, I like to dance with you."
- this was a very touching moment for me, I love it when he seeks me out to do something spontaneous, like dancing to silent music in the hall way. I love that my kid can hear the music playing in his head. There should always be music. Music is joy.

Then he says:

"I like to dance with you too mommy, like a prince, dancing with his princess."

*choke* :-(

I could have burst in to tears right there, but I could never have explained to him why.
