My dad bought this watersprite (ceratopteris) plant about a month ago.
It started growing, but my catfish kept pulling it to the sides when he had nothing better to do.
Today the plant just gave up sitting in the basket and got spread all over. I also found out that none of the fry that hid in it have survived. Good thing I saved 4 of them that are now in the nursery.
So I picked up the stray plants and put some in the sand, others under the nursery so that the parents stop scaring the fry and left some in the basket.
I also removed some of the dry leaves and put the sprouting tiny plants in the nursery for the fry to hide in.
But how should I keep the water sprite though? It seems to die off if it reaches the surface of the water (with the exception of smaller pieces of it). Would river rocks hold them in place?
