Alright here is the deal my Fiance & I currently have a 30 gallon freshwater aquarium that is in use (to be upgraded soon), but we are wanting to start a saltwater aquarium in the near future. As of now we are in the process of getting our own place, this will be a mobile home set up. We will place the tanks near weight baring walls, joists, & be sure to provide all the extra support needed for the specific tanks.

30 gallon includes:
Fish: 2 neon tetra (goldfish ate 6 of them)
2 Male Fancy guppies
1 Female Prego Fancy guppy (in breeding tank for now)
1 iridescent shark (goldfish killed 1)
1 plecostomus
1 striped raphael catfish

Because of the Iridescent shark & because of our max love & enjoyment in having fish in the house we decided we want to upgrade to a larger freshwater aquarium that the shark will grow & have plenty of room.

The thing is that I want to keep at least my fancy guppies & I have an octagon smaller aquarium for them. My Fiance & I have decided to get a saltwater 200 or 200+ gallon aquarium because we really would like to upgrade to a species of shark, like the smaller bamboo, but we are not for sure just yet. Having a real shark has been both of our dreams since we were little kids. So where I need help making a decision is should I keep my 30 & 20 gallon freshwater rectangle tanks for now & sell them to put the money toward the saltwater (since the Iridescent shark will be fine in this tank for a while) or should I get the larger 180+ gallon freshwater aquarium then once money is saved sell for even more extra money on the saltwater or keep it so that we can have 2 good sized tanks with the best of both fresh & saltwater worlds. Tanks can be an easy thing to find if you wait & know where to look for them.

And secondly if i come across an amazing deal like a 300 gallon aquarium & all starter supplies for $500 should i go for it ahead of time or wait?

Either way we will not be getting the saltwater aquarium for a couple of years. We are saving up all the money first & making our layout & set up plans, then once the money is all together (figure about 5 years) we will officially start. I just need an idea on if i should keep both fresh & saltwater tanks or should I get rid of one.For the mobile home we are putting a concrete foundation & double supporting underneath the trailer. Also the newer trailers are built a lot better than the older models, which now days it seems to be more "mobile HOMES" because they are set up so much like regular houses now. On top of that we are having it tied down (we will be moving out in the middle of no where on a hill with about an 8'+ drop off at one side so we want it as secure as possible) & where ever the decision of the tank will go there will be supports placed on the concrete foundation up to the trailer itself, most likely a type of brick wall.

We will also be talking with a building engineer for a professional opinion. Since we still have such a nice time period between now & when we plan to get/place the bigger tanks up we figured we would ask around & see if we couldn't find some of the people that have already set up larger aquariums in a mobile home. Then when it gets closer to time & the money we need is saved (before we get the tanks) call the pros & see what they say. Because it all depends on how the home is built some can support the heavier tanks. Hopefully, we can, but you never know.
