In a matter of 2 days, my Amazon Sword plant in a kiddies pond outside, (with a variety of fish in) sent out this shoot with nice little white flowers on..... Unfortunately, the aim is to somewhere outside of the pond.... Should I just bend it to the right direction.... turn the plant around, or simply cut off the shoot and put it somewhere else in the pond.

hahaha, you may get, in addition to flowers, some little plantlets from those stalks. Love the kiddy pond, LV. It's so what I would do. Don't ya love living in the warmer climates? I have to clean out my outdoor tub today.

it nice to see a sword like that, they look healthy Lud!

Strange thing here Ianho is that there is no substrate in that pond.....I merely weighed the plant down with 2 or 3 rocks on top of the roots....

When swords send out those reproductive runners you will notice a series of "budlets" along the runner. If a budlet remains submerged it will become a baby plant. However, if it is at or above the surface and so basically in air, then it will become a flower. Swords are heavy root feeders and will do much better when planted and fed.

Healthy new plants arrive charged up with nutrients and can live for some time off of them before they start to show any effects of not getting new "food'.
