Live planted: Swords, Cambola(?), Java Fern, Moss Balls, Vallis, some kind of Grass (far left and right)... the tall pale green plant in the middle: no idea but it's sending down lots of thin white roots from above stems... once established will be good for shy fish/fry... the small white/green and red/green varigated leaved plants; again, no idea... bits of mopani wood and natural slate...View attachment 32501

i was going to say that too. Do you know the name of them??

apart from that i love the way it is all set out, hat fish do you plan on stocking?

Thanks... I took a risk on those 'house plants'... even though they were in the 'aquatic' plant tank... they've been in the tank for just over a week (with heavy ammonia - the fishless cycle) and seem fine.

My proposed stock:

1 Male and 1 Female Dwarf Gourami
1 Male and 2 Female Guppies
4 Peppered Corydora (or 4 Sterba's Corydora)
6 Glowlight Tetras (or 6 Purple Emperor Tetras)
1 Bristlnose Catfish/Plec
1 Cherry Shrimp

How does this sound? Too many?

looks good, i'd ditch the plants at the front as every body say they look like house plants and will die soon.

I likw your chose of substrate and the canbodia and hygrophilia are a good chose, fast growers and are cuttings are easyly replanted, your tank should look like a jungle soon :D

Unless you intend on breedinf the guppys i;d just stick with the males, as you will soon become over run with fry in a small tank

I was thinking of just leaving any guppy fry in the tank - as a continual source of 'live' food for the whole community:) ...or would the guppies produce too many fry for this to work?

Is it ok to keep 2 male guppy together?

TBH, even with your stocking plan I doubt you'll be overrun with fry... You'll only get the odd few that survive to adulthood anywho...
