My 29gallon

would a firemouth cichlid (or 2) work in my 29gallon with my two angelfish? (there bodies are a little bigger than 50 cent pieces) Also i would be buying the firemouth young.

All the other fish in the tank

2 hatchets
2 Zebra Danios
4 cories
1 Rubber nose plec


These can be easliy moved out (if need be)

My firemouths are pretty nasty, but I've heard of people keeping them and having them be very nice. I personally would nix the firemouths and build up your Danio and hatchet schools and add some more middle swimmers. With how sensitive hatchets are though, I would be very wary about adding firemouths.

A 29 gallon is enough for one firemouth or your Angels, but not both.

Sorry, I'm retarded, i didn't even notice that you have angels. I don't know, maybe thecichlidaddict has had nicer firemouths than mine, I know my guys would rip a hatchet apart within minutes.

Bringing up a juvenile firemouth with the other fish will help a lot with there tolerance. Firemouths are usually not so aggressive, but like any cichlid they are never really predictable in the end.
