This is where the story starts. My daughter killed all of my fish by feeding them when I wasn't looking.(The whole big container)

I decided to go with different fish. I couldn't keep them alive... I found TFF. (Long story short)

I started learning, and the changes began.

That wasn't enough. Now I have decided to plant the whole thing. I asked lots of questions and did a lot of reading. (I got more confused...) This is what I ended up doing.
Step 1 ~ empty tank

Step 2 ~ laterite

More on the way...

Step 4 ~ I added eco-complete and new wood...

It took for ever to figure out where to put the wood. I don't know how ya'll do it.

More on the way...

Step 5 ~ plants going in. I am using what I have for now. I will order some and replace them with better looking ones later. I was going for fast growers and easy plants first. (While I learn)

I have given it some time to grow on me. It isn't working. I don't like it. Something is wrong, but I am not sure what.

My re-do needs a re-do!! I need help...
What would you do with this? (without spending a lot)

Thanks for helping :good:

wow, looks like you had a right old fun time, lol
looks a lot better now, i mean a LOT better, no offence but the whole freshwater looking like a marine tank didnt work for me,
the wood gives it a real natural look.
give it time with the plants, i know, i know, always give it time, but eventually it worked when i re-did my tank, the plants take a while to settle and anchor down roots.
hope your happy with it, had to giggle that you still had breeding nets up when you were modifiying the tank, mollies and guppies still wont give up breeding when they are being moved around, lol

wait a week and then look at the difference, then after 2 weeks it will be hugely different. Dont touch the plants for a month and then start tampering slowly.

Thanks. I will give it a little more time. I just feel like something is off. I do like this much better than what it was before. It just isn't what I want yet.
Now I have to decide if I should add the fish back in or hold off until I am happy with it.
I think maybe I will just put a few of them in and hold off on the rest of them. That way I don't have to work so hard to catch them if I decide to make big changes.

By the way... Anyone know what this plant is? ( the little green things)

Everyone... Tell me what you think of what I have done and what you would change. I need ideas.

Thank You all!!

to me it looks a bit i dunno messy but that could be what your going for and some times it works
with my tank i plan on having a section of high plants with a few low oens in front and a secion of low plants with a few large in back

THAT'S IT!!!!!

That is why I am not happy with it. It is too messy.
I like the caves and different levels. I think that adds interest and is practical for my corys.
I want , in the end, to have a clean "designed look".
I was not going for messy. It just happens to be what I ended up with. It was my first attempt. It is a lot harder than it looks! That is why I am asking for help. I want it to be pretty.

Help me make my tank pretty...

Thanks :good:

I think it is a good start, my opinion is let it grows a bit first and then add in new plants or do some alterations as it goes... good job. :)
