Yep its the same tank I got mine from aldi just before xmas its not a bad lillte tank for the money when the new tanks done what's going into this one?

Btw moey with my new tank if i put some of the gravel in a filter bag or something like that will it help speed up the cycling process beens as my gravel is technically my filter in this current tank?

i will be using this tank as a quarantine tank for my some new fish im getting then once my new 1 is stocked i will be cleaning it out and giving it to my cousin to help him get started

Well I have a sponge filter in my shrimp tank and I got told to place some gravel on it the help me along. It did help so yes maybe try and put some into a net and place it into the filter to give you a boost.

Also hows the gravel been technically your filter??

Im getting an external filter a rena xp3 if i place it in the carbon section will that be ok? i havent seen an external filter in person so i dont know if thats good enough or not

The UG filter from what i can gather draws water plus all the toxins through the gravel and then through the plate and brought back up through the tube back into the top of the tank or thats how ive been told it works.

I get you now I did not know you use a under gravel filter is they not sponge in it you can take out and put into the new one? I don't know the filter your getting as I said I placed gravel on the top of my sponge filer to help it along.

no there isnt a sponge the LFS said i didnt need 1 and the water is always crystal clear and tests up to be good so im guessing its doing its job, Thanks for your advice tho i will give it a try it cant do any harm i suppose worst it could do is not work and ill have to do a full cycle lol
