How big do cherry shrimp grow to as my father has 7 in his tank and we don't see them often they stay in the bogwood. But today 3 cam out all at the same time. 2 of them we still quite small but 1 was about an inch n a half long.

I'm begining to wonder if its an amano shrimp in disguise lol

Thats its adult size the other shrimp will grow to around that size eventually. Females grow larger than the males so its probably a female at 1.5 inches.

If the smaller one didn't have as much colour, it could have been a surviving fry. Cherry shrimp can breed quite rapidly if given the chance, though most fish will eat fry - hence why you may only have one.

If it is coloured, it might just be a smaller male. Females are usually a deeper, bolder red and are larger. You may also be able to see the yellow unfertilized eggs on the backs of females which are an easy give away, even before they are fully matured and 'coloured up'.

Yeah it must be a female as she is bright red I could see her clear from the other side of the room 1 of the smaller 1s was quite pale. Does that mean it could be a fry?

Or it could just be a male - they are smaller and paler.
