Mushroom Question

Do Mushrooms open and close? I just bought one, and acclimated him, then put him in. He was open, now he is semi open. My lights are on also.

No worries. If they close for days on end... then they may be not adapting to the lighting and flow scheme. Shady lighting and low flow in best.

They are at the bottom of my tank, the depth of my tank is about a little under 2 feet, and I have a 96 watt light. Is that too strong?

In my experience they care a lot more about flow than they do lighting, I keep the majority of mine in a corner under/behind the powerheads. When theyre getting hardly any flow at all they get huge.

Ok, so less flow the bigger they grow?

Typically. Theyre really hardy so it's safe to experiment with them all you want. Try them in different areas until you find a good spot.

Mine have increased in size in a day. It is like they are steroids. It looks as if it is reproducing.

You try moving them into low flow to get that effect?

Yup, they get BIG in low-flow. And they grow like weeds
