I have a community tank, full of the standard beginner fish danios, sailfin molly etc.

The tank was peaceful with the Sailfin and male dwarf gourami being the most dominant fish, but not aggressive fish.

I introduced a small(ish) Kribensis, slightly larger than the danios. All the fish are healthy and lived fine with each other for a couple of months, although after the introduction of the Kribensis, both the male gourami and the sailfin molly have died in quick succession.

I think it is due to the Kribensis as he is quite aggressive, though I wouldn't have thought aggressive enough to kill anything. Although I am new to tropical fish keeping and not too sure what sort of harrassment it takes to kill a fish.

Have any other Kribensis owners experienced anything similar? I'm tempted to add a Discus or two, and possibly some Rams but do not want these to be killed also.

Original tankmates.....

7 Zebra Danios
2 Cherry Barbs
1 Sailfin Molly
2 Female mollies
Male & Female dwarf gourami
Female Kribensis
Small male Kribensis

may if been imported infection from fish

or a dirty tank

Checked water, all fine. Almost certain its the Kribensis, just been giving the remining mollies some grief. Would consider returning him the shop, but he is my favourite............

Thanks for suggestion though, have to admit it didn't even occur to me to check the water.

When you say 'fine' what are your actual readings? (don't doubt you but fine can mean different things to different people so always best to be certain)

How big is the tank?

Did you just add 1 kribensis or a pair? My pair were very aggressive and killed several platys when breeding.

Off topic but I wouldn't add discus to a community.
