So, the mutli's we choose following this post, and they have been doing nicely.
Around a month after we got them, we saw fry (Christmas Day infact!) from one of the shells one of the females had taken. A couple of days later, some more on the other side of the tank, around another female and then a week or so after that, not wanting to be left out, the OTHER female had some with her!

Our male was obviously one horny little fish!

So now we have a lot of fry - we've been feeding them liquifry and crushed spirolina flakes and they are doing nicely; the biggest are around 1cm and the smallest about half that.

My question now is at what size do we need to think about moving them? They are still quite small adn we have had no adverse water stats yet, but at some point that (and perhaps interbreeding?) could become a problem.
We've spoken to some LFS and they have said they will take them off us when they reach 3cm, so quite a way to go before that.

Any comments/tips?

3cm is pretty much a fully grown male and females usually don't reach that - I'm surprised they won't take them at half an inch. Anyway, you can move them at any point when they become more independent and appear ready, you'll be able to judge it.
